On Thursday, 28th September, 2023 WDC Programme Officer Mr Marvin Edgar, along with a team from the Saint Lucia TVET Council comprising Ms Cynthia Walsh and Dr Catherine Clifford, embarked upon an APL exercise. The main aim of this mission was to register mechanics who have acquired skills over a number of years but who had not been formally certified, to be placed on a path towards assessment and certification. This entailed visiting previously selected garages and assisting the mechanics who met the qualifying criteria, to fill in the assessment form. Five garages from Micoud, Desruisseaux and Vieux Fort were processed on the day.
